I started tattooing around 13 years
ago, I’m a self taught tattooer, which isn’t always a
good thing, it takes a long time to learn what you would learn with
an apprenticeship in a quarter of the time, I persevered and here
I am now, I love b/g work mostly, any style, as long as its b/g, I
do like color, but I’d rather do it now and then than all the
time. I'd had 32 jobs before this, and nothing was right for me, this
is all I could do, I don’t know why I fell in love with the
tattoo world, it just happened, and I wouldn’t change it for
anything. The highlight of my career.....my first tattoo! Oh and getting
in the handmade 3 book and being asked to join the TMBG, cooooooooooool!!!!
My machine building started very early on with some headaches and
head scratching, but Then I found others with the same interests in
that side of tattooing and I’ve been building seriously for
probably 4 years or so now, with a lot of help from other members
of this guild and others too. I spend all day tattooing and most nights
in the workshop breaking things, sometimes a machine comes out of
it, and that’s what you get, completely one offs most of the
time, I do try my hand at runs of ten or twenty of a certain machine
but tend to get carried away on one, and they end up different anyway.
I was asked to be a member of the TMBG (Tattoo Machine Builders Guild)
when it first started and was so happy, they uphold the same moral
and ethical values I love in tattooing, so it’s somewhere I
can feel at home, it’s an honor to be a member. I have worked
at Bodycraft Tattoo Studio in Nottingham England for the past ten
yrs, since it first opened its doors, it’s a busy studio with
a varied cliental, and I get to tattoo the people I like, REAL people!
I work 5 days a week tattooing 10am to 6pm.
